Save The Waves Coalition is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the coastal environment, with an emphasis on the surf zone, and educating the public about its value.

 

 After battling numerous threats to surf breaks around the world, Save The Waves founded World Surfing Reserves in conjunction with NSR Australia, in order to create a global, proactive model to protect special surfing areas and their surrounding environments. The goal of the initiative is to enshrine and protect these special places before they ever fall under threat, and to provide local communities with tools and resources to help them protect their own surfing and coastal resources.
